Zadar Bike Tours- Find the best one for you
Zadar is beautiful, from the old town to the hidden gems beyond. But there’s more to see than meets the eye. Beyond the main sights, Zadar is surrounded by islands, old towns like Nin and Biograd, nature parks like Vrana Lake, and even wild national parks. No wonder Zadar bike tours are so popular.
Our tip? Get a bike and get out of the high season madness. Feel the wind, freedom and joy of exploring at your own pace. Whether you are a casual rider or an adventurer, these Zadar bike tours will show you the side of the region most visitors never see.
What makes biking in Zadar so good is that everything is so close and flat! All routes can be done in one day, no matter where you start – Bibinje, Sukošan or anywhere in the Zadar area. You don’t need to worry about logistics, everything is at your feet.
And yes, don’t miss the islands! It might sound crazy but cycling on Croatian islands is an experience you will never forget. Take a ferry (it’s way cheaper and more fun with a bike than with a car), and once you’re there, explore the island’s hidden corners, villages and untouched nature. It’s the perfect way to spend a day or a weekend.
Choose one, and get on your bike. Go!
Best Bike Tours For Famillies
The coastal paths around Zadar offer safe and scenic rides for families seeking a leisurely ride. The flat terrain and proximity to beaches make them ideal for children and adults alike. A popular choice is the ride to zadar islands, Ugljan, and Preko, andthe ride around Zadar, Bibinje, and Sukošan with less- heavy traffic roads.
Best Zadar Bike Tours for Adventurers
If you’re craving adventure, there are plenty of off-road tracks to explore. Head toward Nin for some scenic trails, or venture onto the islands for rugged paths with stunning views. Closer to home, the "War Zone Route" between Bibinje and Sukošan offers a thrilling ride, and another great off-road track awaits in the hills above Sukošan.
For the ultimate challenge, combine the islands of Ugljan and Pašman into a single epic ride. Start on Ugljan, cross the Ždrelac Bridge to Pašman, and finish in Biograd. From there, you can extend your journey to Vrana Lake. Keep in mind that returning to Zadar, Bibinje, or Sukošan will require navigating the traffic-heavy main road—plan accordingly!
Zadar Island Bike Tours
Zadar’s islands are a hidden gem for cyclists, and many visitors don’t realize it’s easy to take bikes on the ferry or fast boat. There are three main islands to explore, each offering a unique experience and varying levels of difficulty.
Ugljan and Pašman are the most accessible and highly recommended. Located just 20 minutes by ferry from Zadar, they are easy to organize and perfect for a day trip. Ferries run almost every hour, making visiting either island or both convenient. A highlight is crossing the stunning Ždrelac Bridge, which connects Ugljan to Pašman, allowing you to explore both islands in one go.
For those seeking a wilder adventure, Dugi Otok is a must. Often considered the most beautiful of the three, it offers breathtaking views and a more rugged terrain. Riding here requires more preparation—it’s a longer ferry ride (nearly 2 hours) with fewer departures each day. Alternatively, a fast boat can get you there quicker, but be sure to confirm in advance if they accommodate bikes, as space is limited.
Whether you choose Ugljan, Pašman, or Dugi Otok, these islands provide unforgettable cycling experiences and a chance to escape the mainland crowds.
Ugljan Bike Route
This route combines three different bike trails, giving you the flexibility to choose the one that suits you best. The primary route spans around 16 km and can be completed in under 2 hours, making it an excellent choice for a half-day or full-day adventure

Ugljan - Pašman bike tour
The trail through the islands of Pašman and Ugljan is intended for riders of moderate physical condition who do not mind rougher macadam. Trail is intended to start from Tkon (Pašman) and go all the way to Preko (Ugljan) but my advice is to do it in reverse if you are starting from Zadar.
