The largest villages, Preko and Ugljan, are perfect starting points for your cycling journey. From Preko, you can even bike or hike to St. Michael’s Fortress for breathtaking views of the Zadar archipelago.
Renting a bike is the best way to explore Ugljan’s scenic trails, picturesque villages, and peaceful bays like those in Mulina. Whether you’re looking to relax by the water or dive into the island’s rich culture, cycling offers the freedom to see it all at your own pace.

Connected to Ugljan by a Ždrelac bridge, the island of Pašman is also ideal for cycling. With its quiet coves, sandy beaches, and lush nature, it’s a must-visit during your trip.

Explore the Best Ugljan Bike Routes
Ugljan is a paradise for cycling enthusiasts. With dozens of scenic bike tracks and the entire island feeling like one big cycling route, there’s no better way to explore every inch of its beauty. Over my 10+ years in the bike rental business, I’ve compiled a selection of the most popular and enjoyable bike routes on Ugljan, perfect for all types of riders.
Most routes are family-friendly, as the island experiences much lighter traffic compared to Zadar. However, keep in mind that many bike paths also serve as car roads, so staying cautious is key.
Some must-visit spots include Preko, the main ferry port; Kali, a charming fishing village; and St. Michael’s Fortress, which offers breathtaking panoramic views. Don’t miss the chance to cycle to the famous Ždrelac Bridge, connecting Ugljan to the neighboring island of Pašman.
Make sure to pack your swimming gear, as the island is dotted with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters that are perfect for a refreshing dip during your ride. Choose a route that suits you and get ready to experience Ugljan’s magic on two wheels!

Ugljan - Pašman bike tour
The trail through the islands of Pašman and Ugljan is intended for riders of moderate physical condition who do not mind rougher macadam. Trail is intended to start from Tkon (Pašman) and go all the way to Preko (Ugljan) but my advice is to do it in reverse if you are starting from Zadar.
